Our Northern climate is finally cooperating with us and that always inspires me to take my workouts outside. Usually this time of year is when I'm starting to gear up for our Bell Park classes here in Sudbury Ontario. But this year, things are a little different to say the least. But that doesn't mean we can't head outside and enjoy the sun while getting our daily movement practice in! In this workout, it's a bit of a choose-your-own-adventure. I don't know about you, but I love options! I also love taking an idea and making it my own. In my teaching, I call these 'suggestions'. So here's my suggestion for you! Add some cardio to this workout! I've broken this routine into rounds and encourage you to add some cardio in between rounds.
Here are some suggestions:
- jump rope
- jog around your block
- find a hill and do hill sprints in between rounds
- find a set of stairs and run the stairs in between rounds (this was my choice!)
- swing a kettlebell for one minute
-OR, rest in between rounds so you're recovered enough to put everything you have into the next set.
Once you've picked your in-between round choice, you'll complete each of these 5 moves 10 times for round one, then hit your cardio. Come back to your mat and complete each of these moves 9 times each, cardio, then 8 times each, cardio, repeating this pattern until you complete each move 1 times each, one last cardio blast and viola! Workout complete ✔️.
